Holiday Getaway, Colombo

Day 01                    Airport to Colombo

Meet at the Airport and you will be driven to the city of Colombo and check-in at Hotel Galadari.

City tour of the Commercial Capital of Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka's capital, Colombo is a diverse blend of old colonial architecture and modern high-rise buildings. From the grand old mansions of the by-gone era to the department stores and shady tree-lined boulevards of today, Colombo is able to satisfy everyone from the prince to the pauper. From golf courses to excellent shopping, dining, wining and entertainment venues you name it, Colombo has it! Afterwards back to the hotel.

Day 02                    Visit to the zoo

After breakfast visit the Dehiwela Zoo. Dehiwela zoo is 24 acres in extent are best experiences early morning as soon as the zoo opens. The animals about 350 species are naturally arose active in the mornings going through feeding and cleaning rituals. It is cooler and not crowded as yet. Zoo really gets overcrowded during weekends, holidays and remains open 8 am to 6pm.

You will see different species of animals brought from various countries of the world at the Dehiwela zoo, lions, tigers, leopards, hyenas, wolves, cheetahs, bears, rhinos etc. Even huge animals like elephants, giraffes are also kept in the zoo. As there is greater freedom here than in the many zoos around the world, thousands of visitors visit the zoo every year. The sight of colorful storks at the screaming macaws ruffling mix bright places soon make any visitor quite at ease. Upon completion return to the hotel.

Day 03                    Day Excursion to Kandy     

After breakfast day excursion to Kandy, enroute visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.

Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage features one of the biggest herds of captive elephants in the world. The Pinnawela herd today numbers nearly 71 and is easily one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sri Lanka.The main attraction at Pinnawela is watching the elephants walking down to the river twice a day to have their bath. Feeding time for baby elephants is also a very popular time to visit the orphanage. 

On completion, proceed to Kandy enroute visit the A Spice Garden in Mawanella and learn about the different spices of Sri Lanka and how it could be useful for day to day life.

The hill capital of Kandy lies picturesquely surrounded by mountains. Kandy features the most sacred of all Buddhist shrines, The temple of the tooth or The Dalada Maligawa, which holds the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha. This is also the location in which the annual Esala Perahera, one of the most sought after events in the country takes place.
